Defines Us
An arrogance defines us
And this arrogance divides us
While the houses burn down around us
Memories, artifacts and lives reduced to smoke and ash

An intolerance defines us
And this intolerance divides us
While our cities are in flames on the horizon
Humanity’s hopes, dreams and futures are
Left in the smoke of incendiary destruction
The cities are in flames on the horizon
An entitlement defines us
And this entitlement divides us
While our countries are engulfed
In ravaging mushroom clouds of destruction
Annihilating children, families and tomorrows
While our countries are engulfed
A hatred defines us
And this hatred divides us
As the planet burns in the damnation
Of roaring, holy fires that are soon
To be replaced by eternal darkness and silence
