She remembers

A Mothers Sacrifice

She remembers

Tears escape her eyes

Folding at her center

From the sting that remains

She holds the breath of truth

Just a little longer now

Exhaling slowly

In total gratitude

It happened

It’s not happening

Suddenly she's upright

Gripping the peace of knowing

The screaming is done.

Broken things are no longer.

Doors still hang as they should.

Those awful words

Were spoken no longer

Offering the beats of her heart

A new way to see

No, it isn't the vision

Seen at the beginning

But with all life gives

Some leave a dark mark

There are moments of selfish

I love him, and I miss him

But the truth is fully alive

The greatest love is found

In a mothers sacrifice

The release of this thing

She so deeply cherished

Accepting such deep heartache

So that those she loved most

Could view authentic love

Honest, unbound love

Unconditional love

Healthy love

Not just love through a thin line

Where just the other side

Sits strife and hard time

What she gave

was a rounded view

A chance in hell

Its why she did this

A choice was made

It tore her heart up

Shreds inside her chest

It was for a greater good

But in her soul

She remembers

sad poetry
