In my shadow you sleep, hungry for my soul.
Dusk arrives, beckoning sleep. Black descends. Shadows come alive.
You haunt me. I see you, summoning me, calling to me. Others stand between us.
I turn away. You move forward, grasping for me.
I stare at the starless sky above. Silence descends.
I want to scream. My words are silenced.
Time stands still, making my heart race, waiting for the final blow—but it never comes.
I’m frozen. This moment in time paralyzes me.
Your black eyes lock onto mine, evil by nature.
I fall to my knees, fear pounds in my heart.
I can’t escape you. I am consumed.
I fall, breaking eye contact. You fall too.
You reach for me, but I slip away.
Light creeps over the horizon. My fear slips away. I survive.
