I wish there was a way

To explain the ache that I feel

When you are not next to me

It is not the feeling

Of being hollowed out by your absence

Rather

A feeling of skin that has been stretched

Much too far

Sewn together

Bloody at the seams

The dull ache where the thread pulls

The pain of trying to separate

From where we connect

It is almost better

To stay still for a time

So we do not further tear

The infected wounds

Better our joy

Is few and far between

So that we may get used to the ache

Where we are sewn together

The graphic descriptions of such raw emotions in this poem are simply incredible. What a masterpiece!
