I like the seahorses best.

They move through the water as if gliding.

Light reflects off their skin

To make a gilded outfit and a crown.

They float around, knowing

They are too divine to be eaten

Or hunted down like other creatures.

There is something humbling

About seeing these underwater royalties.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like

To fly through the world without care;

To know you’re too blinding to be spoiled?

I like the seahorse best because a part of me

Connects with their brilliance and shine,

And although these tiny creatures look harmless,

They devour prey constantly to survive.

So I wonder what it would be like

To have such calm, controlled godliness

Living deep inside.
