Romance

Not That Kind

Do you long for romance?

Do you know what it means?

Do you wish for care, kisses and warm loving dreams?

Someone to hold

Someone to guide you

You need a Romeo you are told

To coddle, to lead you

Further on up the road

-

I do, long for romance

But not that kind

I long for romance of life

And the stories of old

Mysteries of the universe

Tales of the dark and the cold

Ones we don’t understand yet

But they sit deep in our souls

There’s a message they bring

It’s not kisses or love

Rather the painful enduring

Of a dark lonely road

-

Because always in the end

Even the darkness must pass

A new day will come

And with it brings the sun

Shining through the darkness

You’ve tried so hard to outrun

Whatever you’re holding on to, child

Don’t let it go

The sun will shine upon your face

Further on up the road

The good is worth fighting for

Don’t let it go

No one else can do this for you

Not even your dream Romeo
