Reunited love

Unsuspecting hearts

The cold lake water, soothing our hot skin.

Condensation dripping down cans.

Coals crackling in the distance,

the sound of laughter echoes.

Reunited old friends.

Love is like the summer; Hot, humid and often ends abruptly.

But not His love,

Searing into her skin like a bad sunburn, making her senses tingle.

Memories flooding her mind.

Of when we they children, young and unsuspecting.

Although memories tend to fade and change.
The feelings latch on, much like a leech, bleeding them of love.

Although a decade has passed, love is still in their hearts.

Beating against the walls of their chests to be let out.

The summer brings love.

About the Creator

Lauren Dee

I have had very disturbing dreams my whole life. I write fictional short stories, rants and poems all based off of my experiences in life. They can be dark, but it's the only way I can get them out of my mind.
