Reincarnation of Damaris:
Narrative Poem in Collaboration with Penn Mysteries
Tiberius,
in a world of demands
mysterious as they’re imperious
In all seriousness,
fate, love, losses are insidious
Many living
with scratches-
inflicted on their hearts
twisted fate,
of soulmates are oblivious!
Nothing but a bilious
stories to tell-
Numerous lessons
learnt the hard way...
So sudden,
delicate, delirious, depression
like yellow finch,
we’re singsongy sorrowfully
engulfed with wishes of
distress—
Emptiness filled with
unkept deleterious promises;
Puts stress on the heart...
Damaris
sinew builds up
as a threshold-
Her intellect
like strength of boulders.
Her smile,
flashes
amerilus him
Melting,
his defenses—
Tiberius gazes in,
awe, amazement, assurance
Darmaris declares:
Don’t resist, healing wounds
I persist, aches sooth over time
I insist, breathe again-
Yes permit,
supple, savor, self-love
Tiberius,
in a world of demands
he pushes away,
Damaris’s passionate kiss-
breath of rejection billows,
like anger endures pains
broken-heartedness likes to linger...
Resurgence;
Tense of vengeance,
To avenge or revenge,
Tears of justice, wage war,
in the name of Damaris late wife of Tiberius—
Rejuvenates her soul,
across the Black Sea
life found her, washed up-
Recreation paves the way,
Damaris renewal
strikes down her enemies;
as she drinks,
the blood of her foes
no memories of her life before,
gone all life’s woes...
