Reflection

by Sypha 2 months ago in sad poetry

Glass is only glass

Well I’ve got a love that lives a life inside a mirror, and it’s strong, and it’s honest, and it clearer

But it’s not kind it makes me cry and finds humor

In all my flaws, points them out

Hard to deny it when the proof of it all is looking right back at you

I’ve got a love that lives a life inside a mirror

Ain’t it nice to come home and not have to say what went wrong

When it’s painted on your reflection and my thoughts are hers

I swear I love, how she knows what I’m thinking

I can vent without her getting offended or screaming back

The silence is bliss but damn the hatred

my own eyes give back to me

I’ve got a love that lives a life inside a mirror, but the cracks aren’t hard to see

A blind man could tell there’s something wrong with me

Unlike him she knows me inside out and she knows just how much I hate to talk it out

So she’ll let me fight and scream all night

Till I’m to worn down to even say goodnight

And my spot will be right by where she hangs on the wall

Singing me to sleep with all my flaws

and just like every night before I’ll take a quick hug from her, from me

With my arms wrapped around my body

Depression sucks anxieties worse, but ain’t it great the love you get from the mirror

But ain’t it great the love you get from the mirror

But ain’t it great all the hate you give the mirror
