Redemption

Redemption for man

Denied hell’s hordes

One may ponder

As men have,

Is it the darkness

Eyes opening anew

In Mysterious world

Which frustration curses foremost

That rises our sole hope

For we who rebel

Against the unseen unsure,

Preached as He is

In star and street

By brook and bishop?

But heaven’s lot forsook

He who blazed Holy

Undisguised before them

Or has Milton right acclaimed?

Man seduced double

Fooled to food denied

Female by serpent dreams

Male by batted eye

Regret and instant shame

Feeble restoration sewn

Afeared of god

From his storm withdrew

Amid the forest hiding.

Conversely Satan, one and kind,

Authors of their own demise

Lifted up ingrate eyes.

Is there some mix in the measure?

Man blessed repeating,

First parents seduced against the known,

Bringing sons and daughters to doom,

Who rebel against the told,

Resisting dark typologies,

Ignoring sermon moons,

Killing hateful brother,

Using wanton sister,

Seeking always self.

Those devils, heaven’s once,

No marriage nor fruitful bearing,

Yahweh’s face despised and Fell alone
