What is art

Is it just painting

Or is it any creation

That required the human spirit to create

~

Any creation that took a piece of your soul to make

That could make so many things art

With blood, sweat, and tears shed

You've created art

~

So are we all artists

Yes but we go by many different names

Writers, chefs, sculptors, weavers

All of these people are artists

~

The next time you create anything

That took your imagination, your soul, or your heart to make

Remember you're an artist too

And no one can take that away

Growing up the term artists felt very exclusionary. Like only a special type of person was capable of being one. As I grew older though I realized it really wasn't.
