Solitude, quiet, alone

For some a curse

For others a boon

For some it brings out the worst

For others they can grow

~

A chance to sit alone

Examining oneself

Taking down memories

We've attached high on a shelf

~

Out of sight and out of mind

They can't bother us way up there

But they gather dust and do us no good

Infecting our brain like malware

~

Examination needed if you ever want to grow

Push out the unneeded distractions

Let your mind flow

Hate to tell you but it's the only way you'll grow

~

However for many

This self examination

Leads to nothing but doubt

So sure of themselves they are

They can't handle one thing not right

~

You'll never stop growing

In one way or another

Accept that now

Or forever it will be a bother

~

Stuck in old patterns, old ways

Never sure how to get out

Same mistakes every day

Afflicting you with doubt

~

Take some time to be alone

Breathe it will be okay

Find out who you really are

To show the world the ever changing me

We need to be around people, this is the truth. Humans are inherently social creatures. However, being around people can also help us to ignore aspects of ourselves we'd rather not deal with. Sometimes you need to be alone and pull those demons off their dusty shelf and deal with them. I hope you all enjoyed this rambling.
