Lavender
Rosemary
California sage
Which herbs do I pick today?
Breathe in, exhale
I pack up and get ready to play
Naturally
The whole process is a symphony
Each snip, mediating
Clouded thoughts actively dissipating.
Ponderosa pine
Juniper
Colors of the rainbow,
Yarrow.
Blooms in season
Only a third, with me, is leaving
Regrow, be it slowly or quickly
The next year, ever greener
Pro bono landscaping is my leisure.
Broom tea tree
Golden poppy
Dandelion
Smudges less common
Here is the problem--
Like Mother Earth, we walk upon them
Take a moment
Stop. And ponder
By beauty and grace we are surrounded
Trample or bypass the flowers
You limit yourself.
Movement and stillness are married in power.
Jasmine
Orange mint
Red-veined eucalyptus
Plants tingling olfactory senses
Take a whiff, holistic remedies
Swiftly grounded with ease
Bliss that's found only in peace
Calming thoughts which surface when I simply 'be'
Fragrance that comes home with me.
Spruce
Mugwort
Rose petals and incense
Each, as unique
As the person making them.
Tie it tight, be it hemp
Or embroidery thread.
A friendship bracelet
Bound together, forever,
Guide your way back as a part of nature.
From bags to stacks
I mean bundles, not finance
Two weeks and they're finally dry
Ready to ignite
Fill the air
With smoke and clear the spite,
Any and all energies combined.
Feel that open space
In your mind and in your life
Open that window
Let in the light
Whether it sun, star, or moon-bright
You are, and always will be,
A divine human being, child.
