A verdict returned
may not be the one you seek
Do we hide from truth?
The question is asked
easily trips from the lips
Expectations grow.
A remorseful pause
suddenly crosses the mind
Can I be prepared?
Listen close for words
not always apparent to
unopened aged ears
Revert to child’s speak
to hear the simplistic plan
Be present in time.
Magic still exists
when giving up that is learned
Seeing old new ways.
A Tanka for Consideration
Desire Is Not Need
Days in hot pursuit
for objects the heart aspires
those shiny baubles
to sway round one’s affections
tempts worship for another
What I may desire
is well within grasping hands
reach higher still for
that which is already mine
what I have is all I need.
As always, thanks for taking the time.
