Of the Heart

We have never met

Yet I know you well.

It’s nothing but a bet

And this is where my mind will dwell.

I hear your voice every day.

Piercing my heart in more ways than one.

I know I could never find the words to say.

Every day I live in dreams.

The real world being so far

We all know nothing is as it seems.

The real world is not for me

If I don’t have you.

It could even be

That you come out of the blue.

All I could ever ask for is in your eyes.

To love from the soul

To never have to say any goodbyes.

I would hope that’d be our goal.

To be with you is all I want.

My mind is poisoned

My heart is empty.

There is nothing I want more

Than to love from my heart’s core.

Traveling far away

Yet you feel so near.

All I ask is one day

Just to feel no fear.

My love for you is my poison.
