Maybe it’s Over

Maybe its over and I have not cultivated the willingness,

The willingness to move forward from yesterday,

Maybe its over and I’m not ready to accept,

Accept the demolition of a memorable structure,

Maybe its over and an evolution awaits,

Awaits at the gate of temple tomorrow,

Maybe its over and I just listened,

Listened to my own thoughts so long I could not hear you,

Maybe its over and restarted,

Restarted on this journey of self-sacrifice that the universe kept secret,

Maybe its over but really never begun,

But it sprung from the gift of being strong,

Maybe its over and happy,

Happy today’s drown out tomorrow’s sad goodbyes,

Maybe its over and stubborn tears,

Tears insist that my smile should refuse to die,

This splashed across the canvas of mine,

Maybe its over yesterday,

Yesterday kisses today while holding tomorrow tightly,

Maybe its over and my soul refuses,

Refuses to let go for fear of holding on,

Maybe yes,

Maybe no,

Just maybe its over.
