Let me introduce the cousin of rap

Poetry the art form where we don’t clap

Rhymic sets to get you in your feelings

Poetry is alive and still breathing

Dimmed lights and silence at coffee shops

Mic check one, two before the mic drops

Stop

Take a breather

Now set the stage of fire

dropping words to inspire or admire

As the sounds of snapping fingers

come from deep thinkers

Let my words linger.

Now imma ease off the pedal

and let the dust settle.
