The invitation to understanding layers
That the human in front of you may or may not say prayers
That the person beside you whose smiling so big may have received an eviction notice
Their highlight reel showing them zenned out in full lotus
May just be the only few moments they could steal to find peace
Before the property manager knocks on their door about their lease
Survival of the fittest, our hierarchy of needs, capitalism
This poem is an invitation from the prism
Nuance and layers of darkness and light
Life can't be understood in only black and white
Wrongness is not a human ontology
The existence of polarity is like a play in psychology
A creed of the obscenely rich and wealthy
To pit the nations against each other is stealthy
You are no one's enemy nor is anyone yours
To believe that difference equals wars
Is to buy the lie and go all in
To believe that yours is the only acceptable sin
Shuffling into madness the gravity of poverty
Weighs on our shoulders and impinges our sovereignty
Now this is an inherent trait of that you can be sure
In my riddles and rhymes I give life to the poor
Determined in my heart to birth a nation of lore
Upon the surface of many waters a message comes
Can you hear the shout of warriors and the beat of the drums?
A new kind of call pierces the atmosphere
And the message is this, "our victory is near"
Swords are being beaten into plowshares
Revolutionaries rising from the dreamscapes of nightmares
The knock of eviction, the rigged jurisdiction cannot a just and free society undergird
I come to this table to say it's all absurd
Until justice flows unobstructed
Until all the toxic teachings are deconstructed
I will raise my voice
The time has come and you have a choice
To prop up archaic concepts of political talking heads
Or open your eyes to the prismatic watersheds
Streams of humanity much different than you
Dammed up diversity is about to breakthrough
I stand like a beacon on the rocky shores
A herald to the end of settling scores
I am. The apocalypse to sophistry.
A Babylonian mystery
A revelator
cloaked as a conjugator
Will you join me in creating a better world?
