One.
Jagged lines cascading
Along streaks of colors
Outline the night's horizon.
Stay strong in these shadows-
For, daybreak shall soon rise,
And your journey hasn't yet ended.
Two.
Peer just over the hills’ crests,
Look around at all the land holds-
Take in all the potential laid out
As you map its winding roads.
For, tonight we shall make camp
And rest our weary eyes.
Tomorrow’s gift brings with it
The first steps of a new day.
We shall wake and put one foot forward,
So scan this horizon’s landscape,
Plot the course you shall take,
And begin your journey into
The magnificent jungle
Of this world’s wild.
Three.
Storms blow through,
Ravaging each day
For weeks on end;
Our sun grows dim
And darkness settles.
But, not forever-
If we remain strong
For long enough,
We will see the moment
When better days arrive.
Four.
As the sun wakes and rises,
So too does my will and hope-
For, each new daybreak
Brings with it new opportunity.
Never stop believing.
Five.
Though you have been drenched
By showers of life’s chaos,
The time will come
When these clouds shift
And the sun again rises.
Once Earth’s revolution spins
And a new day is born,
Know in your heart that
You will be strong enough
To never allow yourself to fall
As a prisoner of the moment.
For, it is the bad days
That prepare us for better ones.
