A Coming of Engage Poem

By LizPublished 2 years ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Sitting on the bed of a mutual friend

Surrounded by books and dirty socks

The company had grown stale so I called you

I could hear you rubbing your eyes

When you asked me to recite a poem

I said,

Can you smell the dying worms?

Do you hear them sizzle?

Toffee brown and just as brittle.
