Henry told it straight,

Amy knew true,

The curly haired boy ran on the tips of his toes,

Bethany protected those who she could,

The Minister wished only to help,

Andrew was abandoned after the showing of

Nightmare Daydream.

They all sat on the dirty park bench,

Their bodies all at most 15 feet away

From that dirty park bench.

Thomas attended meeting after meeting

& he never kept track of his chips.

Jack had scars & bruises on his back,

Somehow his parents learned who he liked in his 7th grade math class.

Emma's empty hearted quips made the days less difficult.

No matter how much the arsonist made them stray,

The dirty park bench always remained in view.

Will worried about his next meal,

An ally dumpster across, what a view.

Jasmine was teased because she knew every answer,

She smirked in response since she knew they didn't.

Anytime someone needed an ear, a shoulder,

Or just someone to sit with,

They could always find company

On that dirty park bench.
