If you sever the word perseverance, it is a thought provoking notion.
Life is overwhelmingly vast, with decisions, like rolling waves in an ocean.
I began to ask myself - "Are there impurities that I need to sever?"
To persevere, swimming onward, seems like a worthy endeavor.
What weights are tied to my ankles that are causing me to be weary?
What memories can I leave behind that are leaving me teary?
Slipping beneath the waves and wishing the sky farewell sounds best,
as it seems as if it is the only way to truly embrace rest.
Alas, I'm quietly reminded by the birds above that this is not my calling,
echoing in my mind, the lyrics written so long ago, sweet notes recalling.
