This is where the water lilies float
like stray feathers.
The flowers glide under an
ancient bridge, where
each weathered plank,
each trace of peeled paint tells
stories of lovers,
family picnics, a baby’s first steps.
This is where the stream
ripples as it slips between
the topaz and emerald grasses,
where it kisses the
honey sweet flowers.
The willow trees stand tall
like mountains and
caress the bridge and
praise it for its beauty.
This is where you can finally exhale,
as you watch your troubles
slowly submerge underneath
the multitude of water lilies,
much like the bees that
lazily buzz among them.
