Past
With a little help you can recover and move on.
It creeps up on you when you least expect it
A smile you wear painted on your face to hide the pain
Those feelings of despair hang in the air
Leaving you feeling vulnerable every where
Knowing you must push through with a smile on
These feelings just crept up on you
One minute your happy then it all turns to gloom
Thoughts of ending life pass through
Dark feelings linger from past memories
You try to push those thoughts away
Keeping a painted smile on your face
Feeling as if you can't get through this but keep pushing on
All thoughts are twisted
Spinning round and round
Why can't I just get off this merry go round
Feeling defeated, like no one cares at all
Searching for answer that will never be found
Seeking, happiness, peace, joy, and love
Is it even out there?
Where can it be found?
Let the past go slowly with time
This feeling will grow smaller till it is benign
You will get through this, strong and all
The past is haunting but keep your smile painted on

Midnight
60 seconds… 59 seconds… Time was slipping through his fingers, though he clawed at the falling grains of sand, he could not stop the hourglass from flowing. Around him, the silence was deafening.
