“Painted in a Different Light”

By Katie Pope

It all began with

Excitement at the touch

Goosebumps at the brush

A wandering hand at every chance

Lips exploring without a plan

An escape never thought of

Yest something setting at he door

Before me to be explored.

Dominating my presentence yet

Providing shelter and confront

Never known to exist…

One question’s the right and the wrong

Of the actions before them.

Never thinking of myself

In the light the world would paint me.

Enjoying the time,

Learning at the greedy hand that freely gave

embracing the moment shared

Even smiling at the pleasure, we had,

The love shared between two.

Feeling as if I had won,

The luckiest one to walk,

Only to be told to keep the secret at hand.

Hiding and lying about all done,

What a trust given to one,

A trust returned with love and

Forgiveness never understood by this world. P
