Scars on the Heart

Love was everything to me

Giving me hope.

It once set me free

But now I can’t cope

My heart is dead

And it hurts my head

Something so precious

Taken away from us

Brilliant and gracious

And all such a fuss

In this world, there are two things

Love and pain

In the world this brings

The opportunity to create us a chain.

Leave me in the dark

Alone and away

With scars to mark

When it left that day

I did not want the pain

Yet here it is

It’s driving me insane

Love is not mine, nor his.
