I've been running on empty
So I use a pick me up
It is keeping me going
It refills the empty cup
And it worked well for a while
Allowed me to continue
But I always needed more
So I could keep getting through
And finally on one night
I overstepped my limit
My heart fluttered way too fast
Skin clammy, urge to vomit
So I went home and got rest
Knowing it was for the best
Stayed away since that harsh night
No need to refight that fight

BARE HUNTER
CHAPTER 15 I pulled up in front of Sandy’s a little early, so I texted Becca again and left a message for Sharon, hoping she had a good day and I’d see her tomorrow. Two cars pulled into Sandy’s driveway. I don’t know why I was surprised to see another man with her. We’d been apart for two years and I certainly didn’t waste any time getting back on the horse.
