On the day the sea was calm
I stood in awe
Like a mirrored sheet
It seeped deep into my core
On the day the sea was calm
I could barely divert my eyes
Such a magnificent sight
Feelings of stillness and calm did rise
On the day the sea was calm
I didn’t dare look away
Of all the maliciousness I have seen
This could keep demons at bay
On the day the sea was calm
I wish you could see it too
Put down whatever you’re doing
Look out mindfully at the blue
On the day the sea was calm
We come together to celebrate
Mother Earth in her gloriousness
With us ready to cultivate
On the day the sea was calm
We realised what we needed to do
Cultivating actions of reduce, reuse, recycle
Before our time is through
On the day the sea was calm
We rejoiced at our wonderful earth
Spread kindness and cheer to all
And protected our place of birth
