On Second Thoughts

On second thoughts I won’t run;

Always second best, you’re interested in someone else

I cared too much,

Invested my time and now look where we’ve ended up -

We’re right back to square one,

Standing In the middle of something that’s nothing

I know what you’re hiding,

I knew then, and I still know now

Help me understand where it all went wrong;

Not knowing if this has ever really been real

You were too busy giving attention to someone else you knew
