Of Tea And Light

How wonder came to be

By Amy ChristiePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

A teacup and a saucer

and golden tea inside.

Of bergamot and flowers

aromas mix delight.

And when you have your cup and think

ideas come back flowing

from far or near

wherever in your soul

you keep your dreams

and treasures.

***

What’s in a cup of tea

that set minds free

and lets them wander?

No barriers too high

nor bridges to stop light

and when you taste the flavor

with tangy lemon, sour-sweet, or jasmine hues

you get inspired

you feel, you breathe,

and bring new goals and wishes

Home.

***

Hang on, don’t hurry

to live on with your struggles

sip lightly from your cup,

ponder on reasons

and don’t give up too soon.

Just like all flavors

mix and bloom to taste the golden tea

you need to dive,

and conquer

the fears, qualms,

and doubts you keep

and are all set

to harm you.

***

Face them yourself

or with your loved ones

and in the battle

you can choose

a light.

***

The feather to bring back

all hopes, desires

and your goals

will keep safe heartfelt dreams

and breathe new life on each.

If you but tarry for a second

to sip and think

and keep

all new.

***

What was forgotten, lost

or borrowed

and never once returned

to you.

***

You do not lose

by waiting

for the right time to share

what’s in your heart.

The love

and laughter

that paints all

a different hue.

***

You could look at the same things

and see them all anew.

Just so, changing perspective

rethinking on a wave.

While you make tea

and taste it

and live awhile on flavor

for treasured thoughts.

***

They live again

when you have glazed your tea

with hope for new beginnings.

Remember

what you thought it all meant

for you.
