Oranges are my favorite fruit

When I was a kid

I was an avid eater

I also liked apples too

Bananas and strawberries as well

But oranges were my favorite

Mom would make us work

Like doing chores and such

I got all mine done

I did every single time

When Mom would ask something

I did what she asked

She’d say I’m very obedient

Guess what my reward was

Fruits, juice, and ham sandwiches

And yes, there were oranges

Taste of the sweet juices

Tastebuds were praising the heavens

Life was good back then

Take me to those days
