No Roots

where will we call home

By HufflecupPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

seeds that never take root

lost in the breeze

a heart without a home

will fill the void with anything

corrupt love or devoted hatred

man rather spend eternity lost

than admit what they are missing

the roots will decay

so we dig up other people's gardens

never cherishing the beauty

but coveting it anyway

home used to be the soil between your toes

now it is land where nothing grows

when did it become easier to dig graves

to offer condolences with a rust stained hand

to the victor

goes the land

uprooted souls be damned
