The day is done as darkness falls over our heads,
As many of us begin to climb into our beds.
The darkness rises as the light fades reminding us all it’s time to rest,
But some of us will sit and watch the sky’s for now they look the best.
A darkness that is not quite dark,
For someone paints those glittery stars,
With the moon lighting us up from so far.
The night sky,
It’s a gorgeous thing,
As it shimmers much like a diamond ring.
We want to fight the need to sleep,
As we take one final leap,
But as we lay our weary heads,
Watching the beauty from our silent beds.
Our eyes go dark,
Filled with the picture,
Of the most beautiful darkness,
Another night sky filled,
With such little lightness.
