New Year's Sonnet
Let's Take A Moment To Reflect...
We write down ways to better ourselves
Something of a simple little checklist
With ideas before the clock strikes twelve
A shift in a world in which we exist
Surrounding us are many foods and drinks
As well as people that make us smile
That, during this switch, our glasses, we clink
Some from next door, others, many miles
We all brace for the metamorphosis
We’re all watching, talking, hoping, waiting
All of us hope for a little more bliss
Some groups are friends, others might be dating
As the clock ticks, the party grows more fun
Happy new year – let’s make it a great one
