My Trip Back from Wildness
Photo by Meritt Thomas on Unsplash

I was beautiful

wiping the stars off my eyes

leaving the flowers on

dropping the weight of gravity at the door

I found a miracle tonight

on my trip back from wildness

where I walked on water

wading and erupting

into flames, igniting

and I could not be tamed

picking the petals out of my teeth

tearing through the street like a hurricane

because I can’t keep the night off my skin

I still have midnight stuck in my hair

and a forecast on my mind

with my hands soaked in clouds

dripping inhibitions

leaving outside all over the place
