My Reason

I felt I knew you, but we had never met, a warmth in your smile

I will never forget.

The room was full, as my eyes fell to you, my heartbeat was already amiss.

The closer you got, the warmer I glowed, how could this be for a man I don’t know. Fairytales, only happen in books, the spark in your eyes at that second look.

Without a word, you took my hand, the music got quieter as we had our first dance.

An instant connection, a gentle passion emerged, I knew from that moment you’d be my first.

Your hands felt like satin as we swayed to the beat, an explosion of feeling, knocked me back off my feet.

The wonder of you, I had so much to learn, what do you sound like, as you had not spoken?. Pulling me closer as the music slowed down, our eyes locked motionless, we did not make a sound.

As you brushed my hair away from my face, I tingled inside at our passionate embrace.

I wasn't that woman who believed in love at first sight, but I had no reason to put up a fight.

When you whispered, can I kiss you? Inside I shuddered, from that day forward I knew we’d be lovers.

I still look at you, as I did that first day, the love we have shared has only grown with each day. Your hands still feel like satin to me, I marvel as I look at our family tree, a life full of wonder that was started at a gaze, a lifetime of passion and warmth through the days.

I never believed in fairytales until I meet you, but you have always been my reason to believe dreams can come true.
