My family

Even though we sometimes don't understand each other and look at things from different perspectives, you are still my family, and I love you.

When I think about my family, I think about my mom.

I think about her wisdom; and how she’s always calm.

I remember her eyes filled with love, kindness, and joy.

And I remember all the things that we do and enjoy.

When I think about my family, I think about my dad.

I think about things that I wish that I have said.

I think about time together which we’ve never had.

When I think about my father, it makes me upset.

When I think about my family, I think about my friend.

The one who is funny; and does not play pretend.

I think about memories that we have had made,

And how I can lean on her when I am afraid.

I think that my family is as perfect as it can be.

I know that my family will always be there for me.

We are not always happy, sometimes we fight.

And sometimes we don’t do anything right.

We go round in circles, leave things up in the air.

We say stupid things and we do not play fair.

But through thick and thin, we’d stuck by each other.

My family’s not perfect, but I won’t ask for another.
