Music On My Mind

Starting off my morning routine, coffee in hand

Dance moves on point as I am off in my own "la la" land

The song with the lyrics to "Montana" spark my mind to the place of the past

Memory after memory, swirling around the gray matter, at a pace of fast

Some make me chuckle, with a grin from ear to ear

Others slow my breath, causing my eyes to form a tear

Yet, times have passed by so many years...

I am no longer afraid or stuck in a world shaped by my fears

Exploring areas of my heart, soul, and mind

That has created an environment of nothing but kind

So today's, like today that set me off on an oddly strange tone

Consuming my minutes with "deja vu" feelings of home...

I stare out my window at the sunrise coloring behind the palm trees

And it reminds me... Florida sunshine is what was needed to get up off my knees
