Digging for Colour

By Ruthie Collier-LargePublished 3 years ago 1 min read

icicles replaced by jasmine flowers

april showers the ground with verdant growth

vermillion pulses through my garden veins

in perfect harmony with nature's blooms

a roof of azure

silvery breezes

frames newly clothed magnolia

in to perfect shape

in turn sheds fuschia flowers

on plants of less imposing sort

trickling tears upon my marigolds

and bruising golden sunkissed skin

i breathe in synthesis with leaves

awoken from long winter's sleep

your branches stretching to the light

as mine crave oxygen to thrive

fluorescent now till summer's end

incandescent thoughts of winter's game

i synaesthise your colour scheme

until the leach to monochrome

nature poetry
