Simply telling you you’re beautiful isn’t enough

“I love you” called as a bluff.

Because your shell is hardened, stiff and tough.

It will Take much more than lovie dovie mushy stuff.

Patience to still be there after the fire dies down

Along with calmness on solid ground.

An open ear to listen to every word.

Not just noise, yet truly heard.

Attention and time spent just for you.

More so when you are down and blue.

It’s holding you in my arms at any time.

Being there so you know all is fine.

Loving without any condition.

Making a life with you to full fruition.

It will take actions of caring and compassion.

It will take all and more.

Won’t just say love, will show love.
