moonraker

someday i'd wake up

and i sailed

through stars

and oceans

and sapphire coruscations

with a compass

made of dreams

and i wept

for i knew

someday

i'd wake up

and i danced

by the gunports

like a shooting star

and made a wish

to dream forever

but i sighed

for i knew

someday

i'd wake up

and i gazed

at the lights

that bubbled

like mousseux

and spilt

from the sky

as i turned

the helm starboard

and i frowned

for i knew

someday

i'd wake up

and i climbed

to the crow's nest

and i cast

out my net

as i stared

with envy

at the lights

which danced

in the sky

and i plucked

the stars

from the heavens

and reeled

in the moon

and i withered

for i knew

someday

i'd wake up

and i frolicked

to the forepeak

and i tipped

the sun

overboard

into waters

of scarlet

and amber

and watched

as it floated

upwards

and it whispered

in my ear

as it rose

like an angel

dreams

can be chased

while awake

and i smiled

for i knew

it was time

to wake up
