Money Tree

Poem By Joshua McManus

We're going to have a money tree,

One for you and one for me.

And give them lots of water

and feed them sugar drops.

Until the pair starts fruiting

lovely notes upon its tops.

We’ll sit upon our deck chairs

and rub our hands in glee,

until we have two bushy trees

perfect as can be.

We’ll pick at all the lovely notes

and place them safely within our coats.

We’ll pick for food, we’ll pick for bills,

we’ll pick for fun and laughter.

We’ll pick for life, we’ll pick for ease

we'll pick for here on after.

But if the trees would ever die

of withered poor old age.

We’ll have to get ourselves inline

and go working for a wage.

I am an enthusiastic word shuffler. Moving them carefully side by side hoping they will resemble some sort of story…that you may manage to read from start to finish…enjoy possibly. If not, I’ll try again.
