Moment in a Snowglobe
A single dance lasts forever
A single note played softly started the simple dance
A dream, a moment that stays frozen in time
Our snowglobe keeping us cutoff and safe
While the world outside peered curiously inside
Around and around, the music spinning us faster
Going nowhere, but needing nothing but this moment
No fear, no doubt, nothing but your eyes
Let the snow fall around us, shielding us a bit longer
A small shake, a quiver as the snowglobe trembles
Darkness overhead, an unknown hand controlling our fate
The last note sounds, cheerful, yet mournful
A final spin as our private world tumbles around us
The moment lost, our grip failing as the snow falls heavy
Will the music ever play again for a simple dance
Will those eyes ever peer into mine, speaking without words
Only silence as the snow begins to settle gently
Raising up, the snowy earthquake finally over
Reaching out, but finding nothing but the cold
Our snowglobe suddenly becoming only mine
Forever dreaming, waiting for the next dance
A glass bubble giving protection from the world
Shutting away pain and fear, a peaceful existence
Lonely as it may be, that single note will play again
Then off to dream of our one moment once more
