The following is my response to a prompt by Rick Henry of the Vocal Assist Facebook group. The prompt involved writing a short poem of 60 - 80 words which includes bananas.

**********

Monkeys swinging from high in the canopy

Flinging poop and screaming profanely

Silly apes leaping through branches in Ghana

While munching on fruits and sweet leaves of canna

*

Young man on a rooftop parkours in a dance

If he falls, I surely will shit in my pants

A horrifying scream from the forty-fifth veranda

And

Now he’s

The

Consistency

Of

Mashed up bananas

******
