sometimes love will leave you
when this love is not meant for you
when this time, it’s not love at all
the possession of love
walks out the door
each step ripping the tears
out from your heart
leaving them running
down your cheeks
when you’ve sewn the shreds
of the flesh in your heart
back to one mangled piece
good enough to
water your roots and
bloom with love for yourself
love will walk in the door
as something you’ve not seen before
