She looked for love

And a heart that was true

He searched for friendship

And true lover too

But they both kept their hearts hidden away

Neither admitted what they wanted to say

Hurt from the past, they couldn’t let go

Had feelings inside - they were frightened to show

So the day that they met

Neither recognized the signs

Of a transporting love - hidden behind those eyes

So they passed on that day, never to meet

On a cold lonely path, on separate sides of the street
