Love and hate are a lot alike
These two emotions are more alike than you may think!
Love and hate.
These two emotions are polar opposites.
Yet, few realize they are alike in many ways.
Both involve disagreements and arguments, petty differences and disputes.
Both can cause use to act irrationally and without thinking.
Both can cause us to do things we may regret, even if they feel good in the moment.
Both can cause stress and crying, anxiety and hurt feelings.
Both have times of fighting and bickering, anger and jealousy, character faults and annoyances.
Both have moments of regret, discomfort, and wishing to change things.
Both will, at times, make you unhappy and miserable.
Both inevitably cause you to lose sleep.
However, as many similarities as these emotions may have, they have vastly more differences.
Love brings reconciliation and compromise, not grudges and lines in the sand.
Love can result in happy accidents and spontaneous memories that last a lifetime, not merely life long regrets and burned bridges.
Love begs for forgiveness and grants it in return, it does not grow bitter and resentful.
Love has happy moments that melt away all worries and cares, and comforting embraces that make everything ok.
Love laughs not maniacally, but out of happiness, joy, and serenity.
Love makes us view things from the other’s perspective, and makes us see that everything is ok and allow problems solvable.
Love allows us to trust and be vulnerable, for with love we need not worry and be on guard.
Love compels us to grow, not because we feel pressured, but because love reveals our flaws and makes us want to be the best version of ourself.
Love causes moments of joy and elation that far outweigh the moments of regret.
Love may have bad memories, but the many good ones make it difficult to recall them.
Love doesn’t keep a list of bad moments and mistakes, love only catalogues happy memories.
Love doesn’t want to sleep because it doesn’t want the good times to end.
Love may have conflict and anger, but it inevitably guides us to peace and understanding.
Love may not always be happy or enjoyable, but the default state of love is bliss and pleasure, and love will always guide us out of the storm and back to calmer waters.
Love will always find a way, when it is real it will never allow itself to fade or dim.
When love climbs a hill, it is not to find a place to die on, rather it is for adventure and to get the most out of life.
Hate and love. These two emotions are two of the strongest and deepest emotions that humans can feel.
They are alike in many ways, but they are disalike in so many that it is impossible to count them all.
But, perhaps most important of all, if you truly love someone, you could never hate them.
