In the corals and reefs of the sea
One must have endurance to survive.
Through all the strife one can seem unfree.
Though some have strong instincts that drive.
There are those that hide
Attempting to trick the hunters.
But the hunters will not be denied.
They will never stop, not even for a second.
Turning any situation to their favor.
A constant strength to be reckoned.
Always moving without a waver.
But there is also strength in others.
Never needing brawn, but always needing the mind.
Even to them, luck is kind.
Always on the move
Able to thrive in any place
They are all capable to improve.
As change waits for their embrace.

The Fish Song
The room didn’t smell like disinfectants. Its fragrance seemed light and not overbearing. A soft mixture of lavender and mint permeated the space. No beeping machines or any tubes hooked up to four-year-old Kaleeka. Her cacao skin seemed to glow from the light over her head. The family, save for one and the doctors and nurses exited the room like a trail of saints showing their last vestiges of regard.
