Life Goes By

A Poem

The past;

I long for.

I dream

of my

younger days,

a memory

that I’m not

able to grasp.

The future;

I fear,

unsure what

awaits me.

The present;

I ignore.

unable

to face

reality.

The moon

watches my

life pass by.

She was there

from the beginning

and she’ll be

there when my light

fades from this world.

The feeling

of being carefree,

it’s a thing of the past.

Young,

ignorant of reality,

free of burden.

Childhood is a treasure,

one I could not keep.

The past;

unclear.

The future;

uncertain.

Only the present

can be celebrated.
