Let Me Be Better

I am not a child,

I am a woman!

A woman with thoughts, feelings, and opinions all my own.

And yet I am treated as if I were a child

Like a butterfly who's wings would break

If let loose to fly.

But i want to fly

I want to spread my wings wide

For all the world to see my beauty.

I might be hurt or heart broken

But if you keep me cooped up here

I will never fully experience life.

I have felt pain before

And I am sure I will feel it again.

And that's okay

Pain is a part of life

And it is also how we learn.

But if i never feel pain

I will never know life

Because life is pain.

Pain is what makes up the strength of a person.

It makes us better.

So let me be a better person!
